A legendary radio station in Atlanta, Georgia, 99X is known for its influence on alternative rock. Launched in 1992, it became a defining voice for the grunge movement of the 1990s and early 2000s. The station featured the iconic morning show "The Morning X with Barnes, Leslie, & Jimmy” and was instrumental in breaking major artists, including Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and Radiohead. After nearly 20 years off air, 99X replaced Rock 100.5, and I had the opportunity to participate in the relaunch efforts.
